Blake's 7

Great sci-fi stuff from the 70’s. The story, a little Matrix-like in it’s concept, is that the planetary population of the world has been drugged into submission by an overruling government. A guy called Roj Blake (Gareth Thomas), who had once tried to lead a rebellion against the government, has his mind wiped to nullify his potential as a danger to the state but when he witnesses a mass slaughter it all comes back to him. Escaping from a prison spaceship, he grabs a group of like-minded folks (Paul Darrow and Jacqueline Pearce, amongst others), steals a tooled-up spaceship and takes off to begin the revolution once more. Full of wobbly sets and bad costumes, Blake’s 7 was nonetheless a lot of fun.
