Betty (1992) came about when French director Claude Chabrol and writer Georges Simenon bemoaned the fact that movies and books were required to have plots. Well, Simenon wrote the exception to the rule, and Chabrol made it exceptional by casting Marie Trintignant. We might not know why Marie shows up battered at some bar late one night, but her body is well defined with several muff-see nude scenes. The slender, dew-drop-jugged Parisian pussycat is purr-fect. She's a Betty who will have your Archie leaving Veronica.
