She's made quite a respectable name for herself as an actress in her native Germany over the decades. Her debut as Mäxchen in The Power of Emotion (1983) was followed by a leading role in the critically acclaimed TV movie Der Boss aus dem Westen (1988), which explores a relationship between a woman from East Germany and a man from West Germany.
