Babel (2006)

You’ll erect a tower in your trousers while watching Babel (2006). Before Mexican auteur Alejandro González Iñárritu picked up three Oscars for Birdman (2014) and another Academy Award for The Revenant (2015), he was nominated for Best Director for this flick. In fact, the praised production nabbed nods for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actresses (Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi), Best Screenplay (Guillermo Arriaga), Best Editing (Douglas Crise and Stephen Mirrione), and Best Original Score (Gustavo Santaolalla, who won the gold). Needless to say, the psychological thriller thrilled critics, industry colleagues, and movie goers. It also pleased Mr. Skin when Ms. Kikuchi showed off her bra-clad breasticles. As a deaf and non-verbal young woman, the exotic hottie lets her body do all the talking. And from what we can interpret, she’s saying she is smoking hot! Perhaps that’s why the Japanese ingénue was named Most Promising Performer by the Chicago Film Critics Association. Indeed, Rinko kept her unspoken promise to flash her flesh when the nudecomer bared her boobs, pubes and tush! If that’s not eye-catching enough, the movie also features a host of international stars from Australia (Cate Blanchett), the United States (Brad Pitt and Elle Fanning), Mexico (Gael García Bernal and Michael Peña), Japan (Kōji Yakusho and Ayaka Komatsu) and more as it follows a mishap with a firearm in Morocco that kicks off a chain of events felt all over the world. As such, the drama touches on themes of shared humanity. Of course, we’d rather touch on Rinko’s nudity!
