Amanda Rose Batz began her career playing herself. The role she was born to play. That was in two short films, Cautionary ECU (2013) and Underneath (2013), which disappointingly didn't let us see what was underneath her clothes. Her big-screen debut as somebody other than herself came when she played Johnny’s Girl in Pawn Shop Chronicles (2013), an action comedy about the apparently hilarious world of meth-addicted white supremacists. But even odder was her best role to date, as Dora Kelly Lange, a murder victim in the third season of HBO's True Detective, sadly not based on the infamous magazine. In an episode called “The Long Bright Dark,” she is found naked and tied to a tree, with antlers placed on her by her killer. Now, we’re usually not turned on by dead women, but what can we say? Her killer tits, ass and bush are hot even with her playing a cold, dead corpse. It's true. We'll have to do a bit of internal detective work on how we ended with a stiffy after seeing Amanda as a stiff. Unlike Kevin Costner in The Big Chill (1983), Amanda's dead body work didn't really launch her career. She did move on to a role in We Must Remain the Wildhearted Outsiders (2014) and landed the lead in the TV movie Nancy Hill (2021), but for the most part, we're still waiting for Amanda's career to take off. Hopefully she takes her clothes off again, too! Just getting to see Amanda Rose Batz naked one time is driving us batty!
