Alpha Males (2022-)

It’s a new type of Spanish-language sitcom for a new world, one that follows four male friends who are each trying to adjust to the changing gender dynamics and examine the way they view and treat the women in their lives. The opening shows Luis (Fele Martínez), Raúl (Raúl Tejón), Santi (Gorka Otxoa) and Pedro (Fernando Gil) at a seminar about toxic masculinity, and we later learn that Luis is married man who’s wife is unfulfilled with their sex life, Raúl is about to propose to his girlfriend (after he breaks things off with his married sidepiece) but then she asks to open their relationship, Santi is a divorcee trying to forget his ex-wife by going on Tinder, and Pedro is a recently fired cable network CEO who’s girlfriend takes over the financial reins by pursuing a career as an influencer. The show may ficus on the men, but the women still give us plenty to be spankful for, including Maria Hervás as Pedro’s hot social media maven girlfriend, Luis’s wife Esther (Raquel Guerrero) who rides another guy like a champ, and Silvia Marty, who calls to video chat with her ex while getting boned by Raúl. We think it’s pretty clear these ladies are really the ones on top.
