Along for the Ride (2000)

Curvy cuckoo bird Lulu (Melanie Griffith) is confined to a home for the mentally ill in Along for the Ride (2000). Batty over her first flame Ben (Patrick Swayze), she decides to fly the coop to find him with high hopes of renewing their randy romance. Unhappily married to psychiatrist Claire (Penelope Ann Miller) and tormented by the recent death of their child, Ben is soothed by yet skeptical of his psycho ex-sexpot’s reappearance. Lulu adds confusion to his chaos, claiming that she sired his son shortly after she became ill and their affair ended. Beckoning Ben to travel back to their hometown, the troubled twosome sets out to see the child on his sixteenth birthday. Is the young lad a mere figment of loony Lulu’s imagination, manufactured to manipulate her man? Or will Ben finally find family and comfort by leaving his shrink spouse in favor of mad love?
