The Blonde and the Black Pussycat (1969) mixes yuks with yummies in a period piece where the costumes are made to tear away faster than you can say, well, the title of the movie. This West German sex comedy is badly dubbed, so it’s hard to discern what that unique title means. But it sure is fun to say. Go on; try it. As much of a plot that can be gleamed from this nudie involves an officer and a count who bet the castle they live in as the prize for whoever can bed sexy Edwige Fenech first. Edwige isn’t blonde, she’s got jet-black hair, but she comes pretty close to showing her black pussycat several times. Brunette Barbara Capell would make things even more confusing if her nudity weren’t so distracting. Thankfully, blondes Angelica Ott and Christine Schuberth give the movie a modicum of semantic sense. But this is a flick to enjoy on a more physical level.
