An ambitious cad develops a devilish plan to rub out his wife and close friend in the dark Spanish comedy Adulterio nacional (1981). The horny anti-hero of Francisco Lara Polop’s film grows consumed with lust when, traveling to Madrid, he makes the acquaintance of an old friend’s wife--a radiantly beautiful, unimaginably wealthy heiress. Seeing his one opportunity for true happiness, the man resolves to murder his nebbish friend and nagging wife in order to clear a path to the dazzling dame. Naturally the plan goes gleefully awry, but Polop’s kind enough to write some gratuitous nudity into his ribald script. Beatriz Escudero, Alejandra Grepi, and Azucena Hernández all pitch in with flashes of perfectly toned flesh.
