A League of Their Own (2022)

Thirty years after the 1992 film of the same name put the former All-American Girls Professional Baseball League into the spotlight, the Amazon Original Series A League of Their Own seeks to flesh out the stories of these historic women even further! It's 1943 and while most men of baseball playing age are off fighting in World War II, a decision is made to launch a professional baseball league comprised of women! The film follows the Rockford Peaches as they traverse the Midwest and change people's perceptions about women's place in the world. The show dives a lot deeper into the racism faced by many non-white players of the era, not to mention the many lesbian relationships that popped up in the league. Broad City's Abbi Jacobson helped co-create the series and stars as Carson Shaw, the Peaches' catcher! The show's debut episode really heats up when Abbi shares a sapphic smooch with co-star D'Arcy Carden, and we're hoping for some more sexy moments like this from the rest of the series!
