Based on Ochiai Keiko’s controversial novel of the same name, it’s not difficult to imagine the taboo subject of Za Reipu (1982). Yuko Tanaka plays a woman whose beautiful body has been desecrated by two drunken men, and the film follows her ensuing struggles and confusion as she prosecutes her attackers. There are no graphic depictions of the assault, but Tanaka strips down in a couple of brief shower scenes.
