Tunnelvision (1976)

With the success of Saturday Night Live and National Lampoon, the ’70s heralded in a new era of yuks. That was reflected on the big screen with an unprecedented number of sketch-comedy movies. Not only did these films deliver knee slappers, another part of the body could be whacked as well thanks to the decade’s free-to-be-you-and-nude attitude. Tunnelvision (1976) took a humorous look into the future of the boob tube and found, well, more boobs. Whether those were nipple-covered, like Betty Thomas’s in a game-show parody, or the meaty hangers of Dody Dorn served up with a full plate of hair-pie in a religious spoof, audiences didn’t know whether to laugh or spew.
