From the mind of everyone's favorite theater legend and Broadway baby, Lin-Manuel Miranda, we get an intimate look at another theater legend, Jonathan Larson (Andrew Garfield).  For those who don't know who the playwright and composer was, he was the genius behind the musical masterpiece, Rent, which won him posthumous Tony awards and even the Pulitzer Prize for his work.  Lin-Manuel drops us off right in the life of the struggling playwright on the verge of his thirtieth birthday in 1990, where his life is not quite meeting up with his greatness yet.  Jonathan has written the great play and the songs in his mind, but can't seem to bring them out on the page, especially as he works all day in a diner to make ends meet while trying to pursue his passion.  As he faces struggles from his girlfriend, finances, friends, and family, he's looking for signs all around him that he can use to unlock his artistic potential.  As a familiar face in the theater world though, Jonathan has seen up close and personal the way the AIDS epidemic is ravaging it's way through his close friends.  So does he stay in the city, keep chasing his artistic journey, or go for a more secure life with financial stability?  The clock is running out on his patience to keep seeing his friends die or quit, so it's Tick, Tick... BOOM! on his decision.  Lucky for us too, the engaging Alexandra Shipp plays his girlfriend and flaunts a little one-piece bathing suit camel toe for a quick swimming pool scene, it's a brief shot that you'd wish lasted five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes longer!
