The Berlin Wall is no more, but back when Germany was a country divided untold people were brutalized by separation. Nowhere is that story better told than in the cold-war comedy The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz (1968). Elke Sommer plays Paula Schultz, an East German athlete who scandalizes her countrymen by daring to wear miniskirts. Disgusted with their restrictive ways, Elke pole vaults over the wall but in so doing loses her far-out threads to some barbed wire. That provides the film's sole skin, a brief and faraway shot of Elke’s ass. As wicked dreams go, though, that’s a wet one.
