The Torment (2026)

Kama Kossowska has spent years reporting on other people’s lives, but back in her hometown of Toruń, she has a disappearance of her own to look into. The Torment (2026), based on Robert Małecki’s novel Zmora, stars Magdalena Cielecka as the controversial TV journalist whose childhood friend Piotrek went missing decades ago. His case remains unsolved, but police commissioner Tomasz Korcz is revisiting it. Kama joins the investigation, still wondering what happened to the boy she once knew. The investigation spans the present and the 1980s and ’90s, revisiting Kama’s childhood as new information calls the past into question. She grew up largely in her father’s care and was troubled by her mother’s absence, and her return brings those family problems back into the picture. What does this mean for you?
