Set in a small mountain town in France, the French supernatural drama series The Returned is based on the 2004 flick They Came Back and presents the creepy idea that the dead are indeed coming back. The show begins with a bus crash four years earlier that kills a bunch of the town’s young children. Fast-forward back to the present, Camille (Yara Pilartz), one of the young girls that died during the accident, walks up a road that heads back to her home, a home that has been shattered by her tragic demise. Her father Jerome (Frederic Pierott) is stuck in a drinking jag that has led to a separation from his wife, Claire (Anne Consigny), who has shacked up with Pierre (Jean-Francois Sivadier), a religious dude that works as a grief counselor at a shelter. When Camille makes it back home and her grieving family finds her in the kitchen making a sandwich, the world of Claire, Jerome, and Pierre gets turned upside down, along with the lives of others in the bucolic town as a handful of other dead children return home. There’s absolutely no nudity on this series, but if you have a hankering for hot chicks in their bra and panties, you’ll be more than thrilled when the babes Leah Gibson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Sandrine Holt, and Sophie Lowe all strip down to the unmentionables in various scenes that are more yawn than loin-tingling.
