The Promise (2020)

Missing persons cases are always tough to hear about in the news, but they become profoundly disturbing when it's a missing kid, driving some people to go a little crazy in the hunt for the missing child.  When 11 year old Charlotte Meyer goes missing on Boxing Day in 1999 in France, the police begin a hunt for the poor girl who vanishes without a trace.  When seasoned Police Captain Pierre Castaing (Olivier Marchal) takes over the case, people begin to think that the culprits are going to be caught, but as it turns out he can't turn up anything at all either.  Only a few hundred kilometers away, his daughter Sarah Castaing (Sofia Essaïdi) finds herself in the middle of another investigation that has TOO many similarities to the case of young Charlotte Meyers.  So both of these proper coppers need to put aside the family squabbles and put their heads together for the greater good of the missing children of France in this TV series.  Along the way, the pair turn up plenty of clues, mysteries wrapped in even more clues, and find as many red herrings as you could imagine while trying to solve a seemingly unsolvable case!  Lucky for us though, there is one case that is quite easy to solve with this police procedural, it's the case of why your pants are bulging out a bit, and the culprit is definitely series star, Sofia Essaïdi, who gives us a peek at her popping off her bra to seduce a fella in episode 4.  Hopefully she keeps shedding layers while peeling back layers of mystery as this series continues!
