The Professionals (1966)

We’re wild for the exotic hotties in the Wild West adventure The Professionals (1966). Not to be confused with the French flick The Professional (1981), this American pic is based on Frank O’Rourke’s novel “A Mule for the Marquesa” (1964). Thanks to the direction and screenplay by Richard Brooks, the movie was a critical and box office hit. Bill Dolworth (Burt Lancaster), Henry “Rico” Fardan (Lee Marvin), Hans Ehrengard (Robert Ryan), and Jake Sharp (Woody Strode) are middle-aged frontiersmen with talents ranging from detonation to horse wrangling. Their skills don’t come cheaply, but wealthy J. W. Grant (Ralph Bellamy) can’t afford to skimp — not when the life of his beautiful wife Maria (Claudia Cardinale) is on the line. Suffice it to say, explosions, chases, and more curves than the starlet’s figure ensue. In fact, Claudia’s character gets busy with Raza (Jack Palance) in bed. That is, when the cleavage-showing brunette isn’t flashing her flesh to Mr. Lancaster. We’d love to say he only has eyes for her but in another scene, he can be seen spying on a lovely Latina named Chiquita (Marie Gomez). Of course, we can’t blame Burt since the topless tamale bares her back and side breast while taking an outdoor bath. No wonder, Box Office called this PG-13 movie “one of the best Columbia westerns of all time.” Certainly Ms. Cardinale and Ms. Gomez colored their view since both of these busty babes are capable of making a cowboy’s heart beat rapidly by climbing onto their saddle!
