The Player (2015)

Remember way back in Passenger 57 when Wesley Snipes told us to "always bet on black?" Well, now he's quite literally betting on black in the gambling series The Player, which debuted on NBC in the Fall of 2015! Snipes plays Mr. Johnson, a pit boss at a Vegas casino who hires Alex Kane (Philip Winchester), a former CIA operative to take a job working for him. What starts as a job running security quickly morphs into a literal week-in and week-out race against time in the highest stakes game of all: Life! Since this is a network series, just expect that there won't be any skin at all and you'll end up surprisingly delighted by what we get. In the second episode, for example, Daisy Betts plays the deceased wife of Alex, and she makes an appearance in a bikini for a flashback sequence where the two frolic on the beach laughing and kissing.
