The Model (2016)

For years, models have been the topics of plenty of productions. Take, for example, the prime time soap opera Models Inc. (1994-1995) starring Linda Gray and Carrie-Anne Moss. Or, the Austrian documentary Models (1999) with down under stunners Vivian Bartsch, Lisa Grossmann and Tanja Petrovsky. Back in the states, Tyra Banks broke the spank bank with the long-running reality show America’s Next Top Model (2003-2018), not to be confused with the docu-series Model Squad (2018). Meanwhile, on the big screen, fans flocked to see the R rated pic Top Model (1988) which showcases every inch of Jessica Moore. Ironically, we still we wanted to see more! Somewhere in between the sexploitation flick Cover Girl Models (1975) and the racy romp Bikini Model Academy (2015), came the Danish drama The Model (2016). This box office bomb stars bombshell Maria Palm as Emma, an aspiring model trying to make it in the competitive Parisian fashion scene. Things temporarily begin to look up when she falls for photographer Shane White (Ed Skrein). We’re totally on board with the romance since it means we get to see Maria’s bare breasts when the lovers have sex. If that’s not arousing enough, the topless brunette also flashes her chest when she takes a shower solo. The same can be said for blonde model Zofia (Charlotte Tomaszewska). And this proves why models are the topics of so many movies: they’re always ready, willing and able to shed their threads on camera. Just wet your lips and say “cheese danish!”
