The Connection (2014)

The Connection (2014) is a French crime drama (shot completely on 35 mm) starring Academy Award winning actor Jean Dujardin and Celine Sallette. Set in the 1970s and based on the true events of the French Connection, Pierre Michel (Dujardin) has spent years tracking down crime boss "Tany" Zampa (Gilles Lellouche) and the Marseillaise mafia gang as a member of the French police. The magistrate Michel has been following the charismatic Zampa and his profitable drug ring intensely as it racks up a fortune piping in heroin to America. Everything Michel does (wiretaps, raids, interrogations etc.) all end up empty. His efforts have even gotten him and his own family in the crosshairs.
