Subtle and German are two words that rarely occupy the same thought, so it should be no surprise that a film with the slyly suggestive title Suck My Dick (2001) hails from the land of BMW, bratwurst, and blitzkrieg. Suck My Dick doesn’t beat around the bush; it’s premise (a conflicted novelist becomes the victim of one of his own characters when the imaginary creation haunts his dreams and the writer awakens to discover that his penis has been stolen by the hobgoblin) is a conceit that rudely tears at the root of male identity and rips away all pretense of decorum. Suck My Dick kisses good manners goodbye in an exploration of primal male fear. In Munich and Berlin they call this violation of accepted social constructs a comedy.
