Sleeping Beauty (2011)

Like Elle Fanning in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), Sarah Bolger in Once Upon a Time (2012-2015) and Cheri Oteri in Shrek the Third (2007), Emily Browning became a literal dream girl when she stepped into the role of Sleeping Beauty (2011). Although all of these versions variate from the original fairy tale, Browning’s part is different because she exposes her private parts! Influenced by director Julia Leigh’s own dreams as well as the novels “The House of the Sleeping Beauties” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and “Memories of My Melancholy Whores” by Yasunari Kawabata, the R-rated flick follows a sexy student who joins up with an exclusive, high-class brothel. But this cathouse has an unusual specialty: the elderly clients (Chris Haywood, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Page, Peter Carroll) pay for a night with a young girl who has been drugged into a deep sleep. Apart from penetration, a dude can do anything to his paid prize while in the Sleeping Chamber. Ms. Browning makes her nude debut in this dark, erotic ode to the power of passivity, and oh, what a nude debut it is! The lovely lady peels off her lingerie to reveal her petite pair, red bush, and creamy white tush throughout the movie so viewers may enjoy a happy ending! What can we say? It’s a wet dream come true! And even though the film failed to score critical praise, Mr. Skin has no problem giving Sleeping Beauty two thumbs — and another part of the anatomy — way up!
