Parminder Nagra of Bend It Like Beckham (2002) fame stars as the free-thinking daughter of a super-traditional family in Second Generation (2003), director Jon Sen's reworking of King Lear. Runaway Parmi has been trying to make a life for herself without the interference of her Indian family—she's engaged to Anglo journo Danny Dyer and is generally making a good go of things.
