Schtonk! (1992) tells the real-life story of a couple of forgers who managed to falsify the diaries of Hitler and sell them to a leading German publication in the early 1980s. This is absurd comedy at its best, especially considering that many of the events actually happened. Clever and inventive to the very end, this movie is a must see. Also a must see are the fabulous shots of Veronica Ferres’s Teutonic rack and semi-shaved beaver as she poses for an artist painting her as Eva Bruan.
