Russian Doll (2019)

Netflix's time loop comedy Russian Doll stars Natasha Lyonne as the 36 year old New Yorker Nadia, who gets stuck in a Groundhog Day (1993) style time loop at her birthday party. She keeps ending up in the party's bathroom every time she dies, which happens constantly, but after some trial and error ends up in an elevator with a dude named Alan (Charlie Barnett). The elevator starts to plummet, but while she's pretty chill since death just means another party bathroom trip, Alan's ultra relaxed, too. It ends up, he's not scared to die because he's stuck in a timeloop too, so since they've got the same problem, him and Nadia team up to figure out what's going on and how they can break out of it. Eventually they figure it out, only for Nadia to suddenly end up a time traveler who jumps into her mom's body looking to track down the family's rumored fortune, in season two. Tough break. While a timeloop offers all kinds of opportunities for trying to score by seeing what works and what doesn't, there's not a whole lot of sexy scenes in the show. At one point, Natasha does straddle a man while wearing a super low cut top, that basically is just a bra. We love her suggestive cleavage, but the sex scene gets cut short when she gets a phone call. Russian dolls have layers, but this show can't even show Miss Lyonne getting laid? If ever Natasha flashes on Russian Doll, we'll watch that scene over and over and over!
