Clive Barker, the horror flick legend and the man who brought us such classics as Hellraiser (1987), Nightbreed (1990), Candyman (1992), and Lord of Illusions (1995) comes our way with one of his first forays into the monster movie making business with Rawhead Rex (1986). This one takes place in a small Irish village with a dark and ancient evil past... As writer and historian Howard Hallenbeck (David Dukes) takes his family with him on his latest research trip to this small burg in Ireland, he soon starts to wonder about some of the local myths he overhears and the church's stained glass depictions of monsters. Things begin to get spooky though when a local farmer accidentally knocks over a giant stone monolith on his property, which somehow magically unleashes the evil pagan monster known as Rawhead Rex! The monster is 10 feet tall, razor sharp teeth, and has an unquenchable taste for human blood and when it gets started, it cannot be stopped, killing pretty much every villager in it's path on its way to Howard and his family! When Rawhead kills his son, now his quest to know about this monster becomes a personal vendetta to know how to DESTROY this evil giant that's terrorizing everyone. This is a classic 80s horrorfest, so you know you're going to see some brutal bloodsplatter scenes but also some serious boobage coming from some big haired babes! In this case, we only get one nude scene from the perfect breasted Irish lass, Lana McDonald, and it's enough to make you look past the low-budget special effects and monster costume!
