Biography

The bold and beautifully blonde Patty Caton batted a thousand for flashing skinage in all of her on-screen performances. Typically, this would be quite impressive and indeed it is, except for the fact that she only managed to have one performance in her acting career, appearing as Nancy in the film, Joe (1970). While this realization detracts from her overall stats, it does nothing to distract us from the nudity she displays in the film—which, by the way, has an impressive list of people behind it. It was the first writing project of Norman Wexler, who went on to pen the screenplays for Serpico (1973) and Saturday Night Fever (1977). It was the third feature film directed by John G. Avildsen, who followed it up by winning a Best Director Oscar for Rocky, then did his magic on The Karate Kid flicks. It was also the acting debut of a very young (and often nude) Susan Sarandon, and starred Peter Boyle in one of his first projects. Joe is considered a cult classic nowadays, but it didn’t exactly do all that spectacularly well at the box office right out of the gate—which is probably why Patty’s career didn’t take off like a prom dress… (It’s a fun phrase, and Mr. Skin stands by it.) At any rate, she made the most of her time on-screen, adding her tiny twosome into the melee of bare skin, and even giving up a nice through-the-gams shot of her mufftastic (it’s a word now) nether regions.
