Pam & Tommy (2022)

Back in 2014, Rolling Stone did an in-depth history of the scandalous release of the sex tape shot by Baywatch star Pam Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee on their honeymoon, which was immediately optioned by Seth Rogen to turn into a television miniseries. Eight years later, the series Pam and Tommy (2022) debuted on Hulu with Rogen appearing as Rand Gauthier, the disgruntled electrician who stole the tape from the couple's home after they refused to pay him $20,000 for what they deemed to be shoddy work. Downton Abbey's Lily James takes on the role of Anderson, while MCU stalwart Sebastian Stan steps into Lee's shoes in this chronicle of their whirlwind romance, marriage, and the ensuing sex tape scandal that rocked the couple's personal lives and eventually led to their split. In an interesting turn for a series of this nature, the first three episodes, which cover the lead up to the tape's release and all the drama of the couple's early life together, were directed by I, Tonya's Craig Gillespie, who then hands the reigns to a trio of female directors—including Mr. Skin favorite Lake Bell—for the final five episodes, which cover the fallout from the tape's release and the impact this had on Anderson's psyche in particular. While it's got to be hard to play one of the most recognizable women in the world, Lily James does incredible work as the titular Playboy Playmate turned actress. Since she's not as, ahem, enhanced as Ms. Anderson, Lily sports a pair of huge prosthetic breasts to more accurately capture Pam's famous fun bags! Fake or not, that impressive rack definitely steals the show!
