On the Path (2010)

The rift in a couple's relationship reflects the continuing rifts in Bosnian society in On the Path (2010). Luna (Zrinka Cvitesic) and Amar (Leon Lucev) are a married Muslim couple living in post-war Sarajevo; their relationship seems to have hit a dead end as Amar sinks deeper into alcoholism to deal with his traumatic memories of the war. When Amar discovers radical Islam, he believes it is the answer to his spiritual crisis, but Luna isn't so sure. This dour slice of Eastern European realism isn't for everyone, but one (ok, two) things about On the Path are universal: Zrinka won't make you shrink-a when she bares her full moons in bed and in the shower.
