Niki and Flo (2004)

An aging Communist official is slowly robbed of his dignity in Niki and Flo (2003). The Romanians aren't known for their feel-good movies, and the story of Niki (Victor Rebengiuc), pushed into retirement after the transition from Communism to democracy, is no exception. Newly impoverished and denied his pension, Niki must move in with his family, where his son-in-law Flo (Razvan Vasilescu) does everything he can to make Niki's life a living hell. And just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, those damn subtitles keep blocking our view of Dorina Chiriac's flue as she sits spread-eagle in bed.
