Nights and Weekends (2008)

Before she was setting the world on fire with her work as the director of stuff like Barbie (2012), Greta Gerwig was flashing titty and kitty in low budget mumblecore flicks like Nights and Weekends (2008). Cowritten and codirected by the film's two leads with this marking Greta's directorial debut, she's Mattie (Greta Gerwig), and he's just James (Joe Swanberg). They're a couple whose long-distance New York-Chicago relationship is beginning to break apart under the pressure of their neuroses, and the infrequency with which they see each other. Split in two, the first half of the movie shows them in love, though if you really pay attention to their dialogue astute viewers will be able to catch the formation of little cracks that might become big issues later on. The second half of the movie shows the end of the relationship, as these little issues have grown to become full blown relationship killers. The best example of how their one flourishing relationship has cratered is when we see them have wild, passionate sex in the first half of the film, only for Mattie to be super bored about it when we see them doing the dirty again in the second half. We're happy both times, since we see Greta going full frontal in each of the sexual encounters. Whether she's trying to ride on top of James but struggling to find the inspiration to really get into it, or tearing his clothes off to bang him on the floor back when she thought he was something special, Greta's always flashing the goodies. We're always enthusiastic seeing that asstastic blonde babe! Long distance relationships might nearly always fail, but a surefire way to make a movie like Nights and Weekends watchable is to get us long in the dong with some Greta Gerwig nudity!
