Mrs. Hyde (2018)

Any time that Isabelle Huppert is involved in a film, you can guarantee there's going to be some form of sexual intrigue afoot. Sure, the same could be said for Charlotte Rampling, but Isabelle is a sign that some strange sexual stuff is on the horizon. Take Mrs. Hyde (2018) for example. This French flick finds Huppert playing a universally reviled teacher at an educational institute, whose whole life changes when she's struck by lightning on her way home from work. Thanks to this freak occurrence, she now has a confidence she's never before exuded, treating her students and peers well, becoming a model teacher, and even improving upon her sex life with her husband (José Garcia). She soon realizes that this is her inner good self that she's been repressing all these years with her Mrs. Hyde persona being the dominant force in her life. Now, with a full moon approaching and her old self itching to get back out again, will she be able to keep Mrs. Hyde at bay, or will she succumb to it once more? Who knows for sure, but one thing we can tell you is that at 65, Isabelle Huppert is looking mighty, mighty fine in this flick!
