You’ve heard the cautionary stories about child stars who grow up with nothing but troubles. Well, that’s nothing like the tale of Mika Boorem. And what a tail the grownup gal now has! Back in the 1990s, the blonde ingénue kicked off her career with guest spots on popular TV shows (including Touched by an Angel, Ally McBeal, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch), before moving to movies with The Education of Little Tree (1997), Jack Frost (1998), and The Patriot (2000). By 2001, Mika made the thrillers Along Came a Spider with Morgan Freeman and Hearts in Atlantis with Sir Anthony Hopkins. The latter earned her a Young Artist Award nomination! The busy babe bounced back to the boob tube for a recurring role on Dawson’s Creek (2002-2003). This time, Mika’s performance merited a Choice TV Sidekick nomination from the Teen Choice Awards! As the youthful starlet grew, so did her resume. The hardworking honey starred in teen flicks (Blue Crush, Sleepover), television movies (The Initiation of Sarah, A Walton Easter), short films (Awake, Out To Lunch) and mainstream fare, such as John Carpenter’s chiller diller The Ward (2010).
