If ever someone was to mock up the quintessential southern California screen siren of the 60s and 70s, they would probably end up drawing a picture of the busty beauty and Los Angeles native Melodie Johnson! This insanely sexy SoCal cutie got her start acting back in 1965, mostly working as the foxy damsel in distress in western TV shows like The Virginian, Laredo, The Rounders, and The Road West. in 1967 though she got her first leading role, again in the world of westerns, when she played opposite Jack Lord in The Ride to Hangman's Tree. Having found a niche for herself as a western starlet, it was just a matter of time before she worked with the biggest cow-puncher in Hollywood and in 1968 she got the chance to play Clint Eastwood's love interest in the modern western Coogan's Bluff, where she showed just about as much of her jugs as humanly possible without actually pouring out of her dress onto Clint during his bath time! That might have been the most famous role of her career, but she wasn't done acting and made quite a name for herself in the 70s in plenty of popular TV shows like Mannix, Love, American Style, Baretta, and Barnaby Jones. It looks like the buxom blonde hung up her acting spurs in 1978 though so she could focus on writing, having penned several novels over the years; her last TV credit was a one-off episode of Lou Grant but she's definitely been around Hollywood in one way or another as she ended up marrying famed music producer Bones Howe and had three kids with him a well! We never put it past anyone as sexy as Melodie to make a later in life comeback to the screen, let's just hope she doesn't shy away from showing some skin for us in the process!
