Starting with a role as Anja in a 1996 episode of Rosa Roth, she was quickly snapped up that same year to become a regular on Alarm Code, playing Nancy Goll. A part as Lieschen in the television movie Der Hauptmann von Köpenick(1997) and two more bit parts led to another lead role, this time in Hallo, Onkel Doc! As Schwester Sonja in 1998. That same year, Marlene made her skinematic debut that landed her on Mr. Skin—the role of Julia in in the experimental drama short Spiel des Tages (1998), or Match of the Day. After a five-year break, she reprised her penchant to play medical personnel with a gig on Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, or Good Times, Bad Times, in 2019 as Dr. Sybille Weinert.
