Louise (Take 2) (1998), the directorial debut of a guy who just calls himself Siegfried, stars Élodie Bouchez as a fetching Frenchie immersed in a world of thievery and drug peddling with her pickpocket punk of a man. Living in Paris with her widowed wordsmith papa (Lou Castel), Élodie isn't quite the street urchin that boyfriend Gerald Thomassin is, but she still does her best to put the pretty in petty thievery on a daily basis. After an encounter with homeless Roschdy Zem, a chat session in the Metro with bum Bruce Myers, and a whirlwind day of shoplifting, dodging the law, and hiding out with Bruce's kid Antoine de Merle, the arresting Mademoiselle Bouchez finds herself arrested, and the bust inspires her to reexamine her life.
