Told largely in flashback vignettes, this loosely autobiographical depiction of a struggle for identity and self-worth chronicles the coming to manhood of a man who loves men. He checks into and checks out of a transient residence where the halls are occupied with memories of drag queens, drug abuse, hustler chicks, heroin addicts, and a prostitution of the body that leads to an elevation of the soul.
