In Lisístrata (2002), an adaptation of a play by the Greek playwright Aristophanes, the women of Athens and Sparta have come up with a novel way to end the near constant war and strife that interrupt their daily lives--they decide to go on strike against the men in their lives. No more cooking, no more housekeeping, no more sex. It’s a brilliant idea, as the populations of both cities are quickly reduced to pathetic, hard-up men. Brilliant, that is, until the gay community decides that this is a perfect chance to strike! Marina Gatell shows off some tender little meatballs as she struts her stuff in the marketplace.
