Former New Jersey Catholic schoolgirl Lisa Marie didn't start out in trouble, so she decided to get into some by moving to New York City at age sixteen to become a model and actress. As a model, Lisa posed for the likes of Robert Mapplethorpe and Calvin Klein; as an actress, she landed a bit part on Miami Vice in 1988. It was in 1991, however, that she made the two best career moves of her life--meeting offbeat "gothic" director Tim Burton at a New Year's Eve party and turning down the role of Kathy, Vanilla Ice's love interest, in the truly putrid Cool as Ice (1991). During their nearly decade-long engagement, Burton gave Lisa plenty of meaty (but not very skinful) parts in his movies, such as Mars Attacks! (1996), Sleepy Hollow (1999), and Planet of the Apes (2001). Since Burton publicly dumped Lisa for Helena Bonham Carter in 2001, Lisa likely won't appear in another of his films anytime soon. In 1997 she appeared in Breast Men (1997), an HBO movie about the inventors of the breast implant, in which she did not show her breasts. Her sexiest role to date was as a struggling actress working for a loan shark in Frogs for Snakes (1998), but there's a nice down-the-blouse shot of her in Sleepy Hollow as well.
