Leslie Taylor has a career arc worthy of a great TV melodrama. She has only two credits, rebelling against the Hollywood-sanctioned three-act structure, for she is more efficient than those check-writing suits. It begins with Yesterday When Charles Arrived (1996) where Leslie plays Danielle, the Drug Addict. Powerful. Intoxicating, even, but also tragic. We’re drawn to her especially because of her faults, which we all can relate to as drug addicts ourselves. But then like a phoenix rises from the ashes, she appears as Mina in Phantom Love (2000), about a gothic romance novelist who seeks inspiration in Paris, and then all of a sudden our former addict is now addicted to something that gives not takes, the penis. Nakedly fucking her man, as her mams and her muff are out for our pleasure, we one-handedly salute your achievements.
