Marie Liljedahl is quite possibly one of the most important figures in the history of erotic cinema. Sadly, she isn't a household name anywhere outside of Skin Central. Maybe she would have had better luck if she changed her name to something easier to pronounce, like Marie Lusty. The Swedish sexpot entered the skindustry with a big bang that puts the one that began the universe to shame. Inga (1968) may seem tame by today's crude standards, but it ranks as one of the hottest X-rated romps ever thanks to Marie's performance. Sure, the movie is pretty convoluted, but Marie got pretty naked several times, even showing the faintest bit of thighbrow in a couple scenes. The sequel The Seduction of Inga (1968) is even more scandalous, as viewers are treated to closeups of her most intimate parts. She went on to appear in a few more skin flicks, like the intriguing Eugenie... The Story of Her Journey Into Perversion (1969), the literary lovefest Dorian Gray (1970), and the delightfully lesbianic Ann and Eve (1970). She also appeared in two Playboy spreads. Then, in 1971, Marie gave up the life. She was 21 when she retired from showbusiness. That's no typo: Marie's skinema career began and ended too early. She's since appeared in interviews on special edition DVDs of her classic films, where she expressed regret at having starred in sex films. As such, Mr. Skin is not banking on a triumphant return from Marie--but he'll be spanking to her old work regardless.
