La vie promise (2002)

In La Vie promise (2002), Isabelle Huppert plays a prostitute addicted to drugs and alcohol who is on the lam with her daughter (Maud Forget), who thinks she killed mommy’s boss. On top of that problem, Isabelle is trying to reconnect with her ex-husband and the son she hasn’t seen in eight years. Add a bank robber, and you have one of the most interesting and engaging mother-daughter dramas ever. That it includes a sexy striptease from Diana Jones only sweetens the pot.
