La puta y la ballena (2004)

In La Puta y la ballena (2004), Aitana Sánchez-Gijón plays a breast-cancer-surviving writer who finds a tin full of old letters from the Spanish Civil War that detail a soldier who sold his lover to a whorehouse and then fought to buy her back. Inspired by the romantic tale that plays out in the correspondences, the writer travels from Madrid to Argentina to visit the spots where the tale went down. En route, we see sumptuous nude scenes from Belén Blanco, Merçè Llorens, and Aitana, who proves that a mastectomy scar can be sexy.
