Young, sexy, and topless throughout the proceedings, Valérie Kaprisky is the jellyfish in Year of the Jellyfish (1984)--and it must be jelly, because jam don’t shake like that. This erotic thriller set in St. Tropez uses the jellyfish of the title as a symbol for dangerous Valérie, as her sting can be fatal, but what a way to go. Anyway, forget what things are supposed to mean and just enjoy what’s out there--that is oodles of boobies, as everyone on the beach finds their bikini tops too confining. Even Valérie’s forty-year-old mom, played by Caroline Cellier, gets into the act. Her well-oiled hooters are like honey to beach bum Bernard Giraudeau, and he engages mom and daughter in a naughty ménage-a-trois. Talk about beach blanket bimbos; every movie should be set in the French Riviera.
