Kurz und schmerzlos (1998)

Directed by Fatih Akin, the filmmaker responsible for the arthouse favorite Head-On (2004), the underground German thriller Kurz und schmerzlos (1998) follows three multicultural friends who get involved with organized crime. A Turk (Mehmet Kurtulus), a Greek (Adam Bousdoukos), and a Serb (Aleksandar Jovanovic) are willing to attack, intimidate, and rob their way to positions in the mob. But when their women tire of their thuggish ways, the men are left to choose between love and money. Given the stakes, this one’s a no-brainer; they don’t come much hotter than scantily clad Regula Grauwiller, the girlfriend most willing to flash her assets.
