Curvaceous California girl Kristi Somers didn’t know she’d be immortalized on film as a cavorting beach nymph. Before she took on the sexy stint, the blonde ingénue made her movie debut in Francis Ford Coppola’s teen angst tearjerker Rumble Fish (1983) alongside future Oscar winners Nicolas Cage and Sofia Coppola. But after her auspicious start, Kristi was continually cast in low-budget B-movies, including 1983’s erotic mystery Carnival of Love (also known as Inside the Love House) and the crime drama Savage Streets (1984). By 1985, the busty babe made the college comedy Delta Pi and the racy romp Tomboy featuring her topless talents as well as the nude boobs on Michelle Bauer and Betsy Russell. Kristi proceeded to reveal her …. range in the musical rom-com Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985) and the sci-fi action flick Hell Comes to Frogtown (1988). In between, she could be seen guest-starring on small screen sitcoms, such as Charles in Charge (1985), Cheers (1986) and Full House (1988). But as the years went on, Kristi’s roles dwindled to a point where she was playing a tipsy woman in the TV movie Kiss of a Killer (1993). Yet skinephiles will forever remamber her for doing a frolicsome and full frontal nude interpretive dance on the shore in Hardbodies (1984). In fact, Kristi’s lighter-than-air swirl of bare breasts, buns and bush blend into a spiritual whole that brings a higher meaning to the lowbrow nature of the teen sex comedy genre. Let’s give a hand (and more) to Ms. Somers!
