The alternate title of Kate Krystowiak’s movie debut Baadasssss! (2003) is How to Get the Man’s Foot Outta Your Ass, but for our purposes it may as well be How to Get a Beautiful Young Starlet Into Body Paint! As hippie hottie Moonbeam, Kate embodies the wild abandon of the film’s early-1970s setting as it recreates the production of the revolutionary African American cinema landmark Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song (1971). Auburn-haired eyeful Kate also awakes post-partying in bed with Mario Van Peebles (who’s playing his own father, Sweetback director Melvin Van Peebles) as well as Rainn Wilson and Karimah Westbrook. Ah, those were the times!
