The archetype of the free-spirited Scandinavian girl has been with us since the days of Swedish skin pioneer Christina Lindberg in the '70s, and with such sexy specimens as Norwegian blonde Julia Bache-Wiig on the scene, it's not likely to go away any time soon. Julia began her career with a bang, by baring every inch of her fine form as the character Eva in the short film Hjerteklip (2006), aka Heartcut. Since her auspicious entrance, she’s been working steadily both in her native Norway, and in projects based out of the UK. One of her most globally known roles is Thyra in the BBC series The Last Kingdom, a part she perfected from 2015-2018. You may have also seen her as Hanna Pederson in the film The 12th Man (2017), a Norwegian project filmed in Scotland, starring British actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and shot in Norwegian, German, English, and Saami (very international). Box-office biggies in her own country include Max Manus: Man of War (2008), where she played Sykesøster Live; A Somewhat Gentle Man (2010) as Silje alongside Stellan Skarsgård (you knew there had to be one in here somewhere); and in the role of Maria in the wonderfully titled Turn Me On, Dammit!(2011). On the little screen, the star has earned accolades playing Frida Røst Halvorsen in the mini-series Størst av alt (2007), or Biggest of All; Åse Johnasen in the show Frikjent, aka Acquitted; and Marianne Ellingsen in Heimebane, aka Home Ground, from 2018-2019.
