This Julliard-trained actress got her start on the stage in a 2019 revival of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf. But that wasn’t enough for Jayme and she soon started to pursue work on screen, and by 2022 she had landed the breakthrough role of Gotham City mayoral candidate Bella Reál in Matt Reeve’s The Batman (a part she would reprise for the hit HBO Max series The Penguin in 2024). She also played a young Michelle Obama in the lesser-watched Showtime series The First Lady (2022), as well as appearing in the feature films The Woman King (2022), How to Blow Up a Pipeline (2022), and Till (2022). Then in 2025, Jayme reached her biggest audience yet with Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster horror Sinners. She plays Pearline, a married woman who gets eaten out in the back room of a juke joint before becoming food for a bunch of hungry vampires. Either way you slice it, Jayme is one delicious dish!
